I showed this little weed with its lovely bell-shaped lavender flower some love this week. It had popped up in the control joint (I just call it a crack) of my driveway. I’m always fighting to get rid of these weeds that keep popping up. But this pretty little sweetie deserved to be showcased. So I took a photo of it, and lo and behold, it’s known as a wild petunia. I decided to memorialize it with my art. I removed the ugly cement background in the photo and brought it into my iPad app, Procreate. Then I placed the photo on a textured green background enclosed in a gold frame. The quote, “A weed is but an unloved flower” by Ella Wheeler Wilcox, couldn’t have been more appropriate for this lovely little “weed.”
