I've been hard at work, er play for the past month on this new collection of colorful batik style hibiscus, one for each month of the year, and they are finally here! September's lovely hibiscus is a pretty orange and yellow ruffled number set on a forest green background, perfect for your fall decorating. It comes on stretched canvas in 12"x12" and 16"x16" ready to hang in your home or office right from my website here.
I began with a pattern of seven different hibiscus (Sep not included) for adding to products in my Society6 and RedBubble print on demand shops. Here are just a few of the products with this pattern on a forest green background (clicking on each picture will take you to the product online to purchase):
These flowers are also pretty on apparel for fall - I especially love wearing the A-Line Dress, below. Just add a coordinating cardigan over this on those cool fall days. See the cardigan I designed for it below this pic of the dress.
Finally, stay warm and stylish this fall and winter with Society6's Zip Hoodie and newly added Sweatpants with my September Hibiscus adorning them:
Here they are together (no link to online):
I created a bodycon dress with my hibiscus garden print and a cardigan (same as above, but reversed it in solid forest green on top with hibiscus print pockets). They are in my brand new Contrado shop here or click on pics for direct link to that product.
The cardigans come in two types of fabric: loose knit jersey and solange silky jersey and in sizes from XXS to 2XL.
The dress comes also comes in two types of fabrics: soft fabric jersey and solange silky jersey and in sizes from XS to 4XL.
My Hibiscus Garden 2023 Calendar is coming soon. Here's a sneak peek at the cover:
I think the hibiscus, which I illustrated digitally in a batik style of painting on fabric, has a distinct chinoiserie feel, so I hand-lettered my calendar title in that style as well. I will be releasing the calendar next month for sale on my website.
Coming up next on my design agenda is hot cocoa in some fun mugs for fall. I've been creating lots of motifs to use on these. Can't wait to see what I come up with! Until next time...
Make it a colorful day!
P.S. - It would be wonderful if you would share this blog post with family and friends. I'd love to extend my reach to others who also love color and pretty designs. Thanks so much!
