Raspberry Patch New Art and Pattern Design

Raspberry Patch New Art and Pattern Design

Raspberry Patch Tablecloth from Society6

I don’t know about you, but raspberries are one of my favorite fruits! So I was excited to draw them and arrange them into a new pattern design. The style of all four of my berry designs will have a similar look — berries on their leaves, with the berries’ flowers included in the cluster and interspersed in the spaces between the clusters. I think this makes for a more cohesive collection.

I can envision quilt makers using all four patterns in a quilt block.  I hope to expand the collection to more designs in keeping with the original berry designs. This will take awhile to offer for sale in my Spoonflower shop as they require we order a sample of each design before offering it for sale on their site.

I created all the designs digitally on my iPad from drawings, to setting up the clusters in the iPad Photoshop app. Then arranging it all into a pattern in Photoshop on my MacBook. I love the process from start to finish!

Raspberries are thought to have originated in Turkey and expanded to Mediterranean Europe.  The Romans took the raspberry to the rest of Europe, including Britain.  The English began cultivating the berry in the 16th century.

According to WebMD.com, “They provide potassium, essential to heart function, and proven to lower blood pressure. The omega-3 fatty acids in raspberries can help prevent stroke and heart disease. They also contain a mineral called manganese, which is necessary for healthy bones and skin and helps regulate blood sugar.”

I’m buying raspberries more often in the future! ❤️

Below is a peek at just a few of the products available in my shops with Raspberry Patch printed on them. Society6 is having a 25% off sale until May 1st, and I think this pattern as well as many other patterns in my shops would make great Mother's Day gifts.  But be sure to shop soon! These products are printed one at a time when ordered, and shipping time is also something to keep in mind.  It takes a week or bit longer to receive these custom products -- but it's well worth the wait!

You can see and purchase these and many more products in my shops at RedBubble, Society6, and Fine Art America.

I've created a YouTube video showcasing this design on products from my shops.  You can view it here.

My Strawberry Patch pattern will be featured next.

Have a colorful day,

Marcy
